Fine apple tarte .

This is my fail safe, go to ,out to impress tart! And I promise it is so straight forward to make and will wow any deserving guest. Flaky pastry is the base and any firm ripe fruit that you can slice thinly. Apples , pears and nectarines are ideal. You don’t want to use a fruit either that has a lot of juice as this will make the tart base soggy.

Roll out your flaky pastry to the thickness of a 1e coin, use a large dinner plate as a template and cut out a large circle. Prick all over with a fork and place on a lined baking sheet . Silicone sheets are great as you can re use them and nothing sticks to them .
Peel, core and thinly slice apples . I normally use a crunchy red variety , more flavor.

Arrange slices neatly starting at the edge leaving about 2cm edge and fan around the circle, moving inwards. Finishing off in the center.

Dot generously with butter and dust liberally with icing sugar. Place in a preheated heated 190oc oven and bake for about 20-30 mins until golden and crisp. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
